Hampshire-based Vitacress Salads has launched a branded range of fresh Watercress and Baby Leaf bagged salads.
The company can now harvest leaves from field to bag in under 24 hours - during the UK season - to extend the life of the product and ensure minimal waste with maximum flavour.
Also, with its own farms in Portugal and Spain as well as in the UK, Vitacress can ensure a consistent supply year round.
The company's branded bagged salad range is readily available from most fresh produce wholesalers, allowing caterers to take advantage of an eight per cent year-on-year growth increase in consumer demand for leafy salads by offering a selection on their menus throughout the year.
The full Vitacress Bagged Salad range includes Rocket Salad (containing Rocket, Red Cos, Tango and Mizuna) and Watercress, Spinach & Rocket Salad, both 100g; Baby Leaf Spinach, 180g: Watercress, 75g; and Wild Rocket, 60g.
